14th August, 2017 became a momentous day for ‘Sarvodaya Suwasetha’ with the opening of the Sarvodaya Suwasetha International Hostel.

As an organisation committed to uplifting the lives of marginalized people – young and old, Sarvodaya Suwasetha always foresees potential challenges and steps in advance to ensure continuity of its services to the needy. In April 2017, Sarvodaya Suwasetha embarked on implementing an ambitious Rapid Sustainability Plan which aimed at generating income to guarantee its long-term sustainability through a self-sufficient future. Refurbishing the Sarvodaya Suwasetha International Hostel was one of the key items on this agenda and we are proud to have achieved this target in due time.

The newly renovated International Hostel was opened at a simple gathering graced by Mrs. Neetha Ariyaratne, the Honorary Secretary of Suwasetha. At an auspicious time, Mrs. Ariyaratne handed over the keys to the first international guest Mr.Tumisang Ramarea, a graduate student from Standford University, the USA while making a wish that this cozy facility will accommodate many more guests from around the world for years to come.

We sincerely hope that all foreign visitors and volunteers to Sarvodaya will find Sarvodaya Suwasetha International Hostel a pleasant, comfortable and safe abode during their life transforming stay with Sarvodaya and also experience the joy of contributing to a noble cause through Sarvodaya Suwasetha.
