Suwasetha currently has facilities for approximately 350 children who are housed in the 11 homes.  The children who has been absorbed into the homes are those without any parents or with one or both parents who are unable to provide for the child. Additionally, steps are being taken to provide assistance to families who opt to accept support for their own children or for children placed for foster care.

Current estimations place the total sponsorship cost for a child at US $ 50 (Rs 5000) per month

This amount is made up of cost of food, clothing, education, recreation and other maintenance of each child which is US $ 40 (Rs 4,000) per month and the balance sum is placed in a Savings Account for the child.

In implementing this programme, Suwasetha is also conscious of its obligation to protect the privacy and personal safety of the child.
