With the gradual increase of the number of children the school was shifted to Sarvodaya Early Childhood Development Building in Rawathawatte. Three teachers selected by Sarvodaya were trained at the school for the Deaf in Ratmalana while Ms Tineka de Silva has been the Principal of this school from the inception.
In 1993 a new building was constructed at 14/2, Andiris de Silva Mawatha, Rawathawatte, Moratuwa with the assistance of Dr Reijntjes School in the Netherlands and Lanka Jathika Sarvodaya Seva Society registered as unit 5 of Sarvodaya Suwasetha Seva Society Ltd, and receives the approval grant from the Department of Social Services annually.
At present 80 children residential are being taught Computer training, drawing, dancing, sewing, beauty culture, first aid and sports activities as subjects in the school to streamline their education.
The mission of the school is to cater to the most deserving hearing impaired children from low-income families in the remotest parts of Sri Lanka. These children receive free special education and hostel facilities during their entire learning period till they are 18 years of age.
