Sureni Dilhani was handed over to the Nutrition Centre at Sarvodaya Suwasetha in August 1999; she was barely 13 yrs old. Since then she has been in our care and learnt many skills at the Vocational Training Institute and excelled in handling Industrial Sewing machines, Hand and Ribbon Embroidery, Patchwork and Cross-stitching. With her knowledge and skills she secured a job at Linea Clothing a few years back and now hopes to start her own business with the sewing machine and all necessary accessories received from Sarvodaya Suwasetha.

It was her mother who brought about a suitable partner for her and they were married in a small intimate ceremony on the 14th August 2008 in the house she built.

Sureni and husband Pradeep have now shifted to his mother’s home in Gampaha due to him securing a job as a driver and they hope to raise a family there.
